New Species Discovered in the Greater Mekong | Publications

A color-changing lizard, a thick-thumbed bat, a toxic snake named after a Chinese language mythological goddess, an orchid that appears like a Muppet, and a tree frog with pores and skin that resembles thick moss are 5 of the 380 new species described by scientists within the Better Mekong area of Southeast Asia in 2021 and 2022, in response to a brand new report releasing quickly by WWF. With lots of the species already underneath menace of extinction from human actions, WWF is asking on governments within the area to extend safety for these uncommon, wonderful creatures and their habitats.
